English/ One thing I have never really thought when it comes toVenice is that there is no traffic, we were checking prices for taxi and thought that we could use it of course - even though we heard that there were no cars on the island itself.
I have seen pictures and have always had a clue as to how it looks - But then again I've just assumed it can't look like that everywhere, but it actually does. And it's just like the movies. The first thing we saw was the bridge connecting Venice to the mainland, and once we got through the massive crowd of people and over, it was like a completely different world. So amazingly beautiful, small streets everywhere, water with boats and gondolas. Small cafes and restaurants in every little corner, local shops and painters with unfinished paintings of the surroundings - I mean come on, it was so nice.
The island itself is small, and it's like a maze! I felt bad for those who dragged their heavy suitcases, looking for their hotels, it was easy to make the wrong turn and the hotels were not so easy to spot!
